In Assisi the Feast of the Ascension, which this year falls on May 20th, is traditionally celebrated by a gathering of the townsfolk on Monte Subasio for a picnic lunch and a day in the fresh, spring air. The inhabitants of Spello also have the same tradition, although they flock to the La Spella hermitage while the Assisans meet at the Stazzi.

From April 7th to May 31st the art gallery of the Pro Civitate Christiana will be running the contemporary art show entitled "La Resurrezione", with seven sections of works by artists dating from the mid-20th century all on the central theme of Christ.
